Radio fit from '01 Escape?
I'm getting a cd/cassette radio from an '01 Escape/Explorer and hope that it will fit into a '98 Grand Marquis. Really want the cd but need to keep the cassette option as well. model is YU3F-18C868-AA
Anyone know if it will fit? I'm sure the wiring is different, but I think I can work that part out if it will fit.
Thanks for any help.

aftermarket wire harnesses can be found to adapt to both ends if needed, but as for the fit, I didn't know the grand marquis had a double din hole. I thought it was single din. but that is pretty much the only options with most of the later model Ford/Mercury vehicles. Either it's big enough for a double din with an adapter for the specific model's mounting (for bezels and such). Once you get the stock one out of the MGM, you can compare it to the one from the Ford and see for sure. I'm just going with what I remember and could be way off base here. Someone else may know more.

Here they are with the standard sound system.. The LUX/JBL system just has an extra plug for the subwoofer, and possibly a cd changer.. and a White/Pink wire that goes to the driver door module...
Pink/Light Blue -- Battery + Hot all the time
Yellow/Black -- Battery + Hot with key in accessory or run
Light Blue/Red -- Battery + With Lights on (Instrument Illumination)
Black/ Light Green -- Ground (I think there are 2 of these)
Black/ Yello -- Ground
Black -- Ground
Speakers -- Not sure of the polarity on these
White/Light Green --RF
Dark Green/Orange --RF
Brown/Pink --RR
Orange/Red --RR
Grey/Light Blue --LR
Tan/Yellow --LR
Orange/Light Green --LF
Light Blue/White --LF

if you have the factory harnesses, leave them in and just get aftermarket adapters. It will save LOADS of hassle as you can create a wire harness that goes from the radio to the factory connections in the dash. Plus, the aftermarket harnesses come complete with their own wiring diagrams.
