Squeaking noise when pressing the brake pedal
Hi, there:
My name is Andrew Smith and I recently got a 2001 Sable LS premium. The car works great. The only strange thing is when I press the brake pedal hard, I can hear squeaking noise from the bottom junction of the padel. It sounds as if the springs inside are lack of lubricants. The adjustable brake pads work fine. But is this noise an early symptom of some mechanical failure of the adjustable apparatus?
Thanks
Andy

My '97 Sable brake pedal used to squeak all the time. I would just spray some white lithium grease on the squeaky pivot point and it would be good for a few months and then it would need another spray. Probably where the metal meets the rubber on/or near the firewall.
